Ensure product quality and transportation
Orange-peel aluminum coils are produced by rolling the aluminum substrate to create a textured pattern resembling the skin of an orange. This is a functional aluminum material; the texture is not simply printed on the surface but is a permanent structure formed by plastic deformation of the aluminum sheet. The pattern is fine and evenly distributed, with a slightly grainy texture to the touch.
Orange-peel textured aluminum coils are primarily used for refrigerator and air conditioner liners, pipe insulation casings, architectural decoration, and anti-slip base plates. Common grades include 1060 and 3003, with thicknesses typically ranging from 0.2 to 1.5 mm.

Common orange peel finishes: 1060, 3003, and 3004. You may be wondering why there are only these three grades of orange peel aluminum coils. Here is the explanation:
Different grades vary in strength, corrosion resistance, and formability, so material selection depends on the specific application. Grade 1060 is relatively soft and low-cost, making it suitable for inner liners, general decoration, and thermal insulation casings; 3003 offers a better balance of rust resistance and strength, making it suitable for pipe insulation, architectural decoration, and parts that require bending; 3004 has higher strength and good corrosion resistance, making it suitable for applications requiring higher hardness.
Other available aluminum coil grades include: 1050, 1060, 1070, 1100, 3003, 5052, 6061, 7075, 8011, etc.
Processing and Supply Options
We offer embossed orange-peel texture, color-coated finishes, leveling, and cut-to-length services, as well as slitting into smaller coils according to customer-specified lengths. Advantages of Orange-Peel Textured Aluminum Coils

- The embossing process not only imparts a textured appearance but also provides tangible improvements in mechanical performance. Because the embossed structure alters the stress distribution within the aluminum sheet, the tensile strength of orange-peel textured aluminum coils of the same specifications can be increased by approximately 10% to 20% compared to flat aluminum coils.
- Elongation remains above 25%, allowing for smooth 90-degree cold bending; cracks do not occur when the bending radius is controlled within 1.5 mm, making it suitable for processing applications requiring bending, edge rolling, and stamping.
In addition, the orange peel-embossed surface is resistant to noticeable scratches from minor impacts and reduces glare.
Application
- Home Appliance Manufacturing: The home appliance industry is one of the largest consumers of orange-peel aluminum coils. These coils are extensively used for the inner liners and back panels of refrigerators and freezers; they are also commonly used in air conditioner casings and washing machine panels, where aluminum’s thermal conductivity aids in heat dissipation. We also offer other steel products for home appliances.
- Pipe Insulation: Pipes and tanks in power plants and chemical plants are wrapped with orange-peel aluminum coils, most commonly in thicknesses ranging from 0.5 mm to 0.8 mm. The orange-peel texture increases surface friction, preventing slippage during installation, while the embossed structure also provides some protection for the insulation layer.
- Transportation: Applications such as vehicle interior panels, ship cabin walls, and refrigerated truck bodies have specific requirements for lightweight construction and corrosion resistance, and often require friction properties; therefore, orange-peel textured aluminum coils are selected for these applications.
