Because the washing machine drum is constantly exposed to detergent solutions and a humid environment, ordinary galvanized steel sheets will gradually corrode and rust under these conditions, shortening the washing machine’s lifespan. In contrast, stainless steel offers excellent resistance to chemical corrosion and moisture, while also providing good tensile strength, bendability, weldability, and polishability—making it fully compatible with the drum manufacturing process.

PCM pre-painted color-coated steel sheets come with a built-in color coating and are available in both high-gloss and matte finishes. They offer excellent decorative effects, are stain-resistant and scratch-resistant, and are commonly used for exposed exterior surfaces; Hot-dip galvanized steel focuses on rust prevention and offers a more competitive price, making it suitable for internal structural components or the housings of economy-class models.

For washing machine housings, PCM color-coated steel sheets are the recommended choice. Not only do they enhance the product’s aesthetic appeal, but they also eliminate the need for manufacturers to perform post-production spray coating, thereby reducing overall costs.

The front and rear U-shaped housings of washing machines undergo extensive curved bending during manufacturing. If the material’s yield strength is unstable or its carbon content is too high, tensile strain marks—that is, tiny orange-peel-like wrinkles on the surface—are highly likely to form at the bent areas, severely compromising aesthetic quality.

Therefore, the steel used for the housing must be designed with low carbon content, and fluctuations in yield strength must be strictly controlled. Color-coated steel with DX51D+Z or SECD+Z as the base material should be selected, as these grades offer excellent bending and forming performance.

Yes. We offer antimicrobial color-coated steel (DX51D+Z) and antimicrobial stainless steel for washing machines, which can achieve a bacterial kill rate of over 99% against common pathogenic bacteria. The antimicrobial performance remains stable even with minor surface wear.

Lead times vary depending on specifications and order quantities, but generally range from 7 to 30 business days after a 30% deposit is paid. Minimum order quantities differ by product: 5 metric tons for stainless steel; 10 metric tons for PCM steel, GI steel, and GL steel.
