Fingerprint-resistant Galvanized Steel
Our fingerprint-resistant galvanized steel products include coils, sheets, and strips, with thicknesses ranging from 0.2 to 4 mm and zinc coatings from Z30 to Z275 g/㎡. They are primarily targeted at manufacturing industries such as home appliances, electronics, and office equipment, which require high surface cleanliness and corrosion resistance.
Ensure product quality and transportation
Fingerprint-resistant galvanized steel is not only corrosion-resistant but also provides surface protection. It not only reduces surface defects during subsequent processing but also, once the finished product is manufactured, its fingerprint-resistant surface helps maintain a cleaner appearance during subsequent use.

Production Process
The fingerprint-resistant properties of galvanized steel are primarily due to a fingerprint-resistant coating on the surface; this dense coating makes it difficult for fingerprint residue to adhere to the steel surface. It should be noted that the fingerprint-resistant coating is not applied directly to the zinc layer; instead, a passivation process must be performed first. Steel substrate → Zinc layer → Passivation layer → Fingerprint-resistant coating.
- Galvanized Layer: The corrosion resistance of galvanized steel stems from this layer, with zinc coating weights ranging from Z30 to Z275 g/m².
- Passivation Layer: A chemical conversion coating is applied to the surface of the zinc layer. This provides basic corrosion protection and serves as a better adhesion substrate for subsequent organic coatings.
- Fingerprint-Resistant Layer: This layer is uniformly applied to the surface of the galvanized layer via roller coating. It is very thin and transparent, so it does not affect the metallic texture of the galvanized steel.
Note: Fingerprint-resistant galvanized steel coils require two passes through the production line—first galvanizing and passivation, followed by the application of the fingerprint-resistant coating—which is why they are slightly more expensive than standard galvanized steel coils.
Advantages of Fingerprint-Resistant Galvanized Steel
- Fingerprint Resistance: The hydrophobic and oleophobic coating prevents fingerprints from forming during assembly, handling, and use, and any fingerprints that do appear can be easily wiped away.
- Corrosion Resistance: The galvanized layer on the surface provides excellent corrosion resistance, and the fingerprint-resistant coating further enhances the corrosion resistance of galvanized steel products.
- Good Formability: Home appliances and sheet metal parts require stamping and bending; the fingerprint-resistant coating deforms along with the metal without peeling or cracking.

Applications of Fingerprint-Resistant Galvanized Steel
- Home Appliances: Refrigerator side panels/back panels, washing machine housings, air conditioner outdoor unit covers, etc.
- Electronics and Office Equipment: Computer cases, server racks, monitor back panels, printer/copier housings.
