0.8mm Galvanised Steel Applications
- HVAC Ductwork: HVAC systems typically use 0.8-millimeter galvanized steel sheets to manufacture ducts, duct fittings, and other components. Because 0.8 mm is a moderate thickness, it is easy to bend (DX51D meets these requirements).
- Home Appliances: Galvanized steel sheets of this thickness are commonly used for the back panels of refrigerators or washing machines. The zinc coating is generally greater than 100 g/m², and the base steel grades typically selected include DX52D, DX53D, SECC, and SGCC.
- Roofing or Wall Panels: 0.8 mm galvanized steel coils are formed into corrugated sheets or cut into flat sheets, which are commonly used for building roofs and walls (flat sheets are also used for walls).

How to Improve the Corrosion Resistance of Galvanized Steel
1. Increase the thickness of the zinc layer
The thicker the galvanized layer, the stronger the corrosion resistance. Choose the zinc layer that suits you according to the environment in which you use the galvanized steel. You can contact us to recommend the zinc layer for you.
2. Passivation treatment
After galvanizing, a passivation film is formed on the surface of the zinc layer, which can significantly improve the corrosion resistance of the zinc layer.
3. Applying organic coating
Applying an organic coating on the surface of galvanized steel to make pre-painted galvanized steel can further isolate the zinc layer from the external corrosive medium and improve its corrosion resistance.
Common paints for galvanized steel are PE, HDP, SMP, and PVDF. Among them, PVDF has the strongest weather resistance and the greatest help to corrosion resistance. Of course, the price is also the most expensive.
