What does “g30, g60, g90” mean?
- The “G” in g30, g60, g90 is the American standard coating code (standing for “Galvanized”).
- The numbers (30/60/90): represent the total weight of the double-sided zinc coating per square foot of steel plate, in ounces (oz/ft²).
The amount of zinc coating is usually expressed as “G” or “Z” in g/m². The larger the number, the thicker the coating and the stronger the corrosion resistance. The corresponding relationship between the two (1oz/ft²≈305g/m²):
G30≈Z90; G60≈Z180; g90≈Z275.
