Meaning of DX51D+Z100
Meaning of DX51D
- DX51D is a steel grade defined according to the European standard EN 10346.
- D means that the steel is suitable for cold forming processes (e.g. stamping, bending, etc.).
- X means that the steel base material is mild steel.
- 51 indicates that the steel has a minimum yield strength of 280 MPa.
Meaning of Z100
- Z100 indicates the weight of the galvanized coating.
- Z stands for Zinc Coating.
- 100 indicates a total weight of 100 g/m² of galvanized coating on both sides, normally 50 g/m² on one side.
- The range of Wanzhi Steel’s zinc coatings is 30 – 275 g/m². Commonly used zinc coating weights in the market include Z60, Z80, Z100, Z120, Z150, Z180, Z200 and so on.
Recommended zinc coating weights for different environments
- Lightly corrosive environments (e.g. dry indoor environments): Z60, Z80.
- Moderately corrosive environment (e.g. outdoor normal climate): Z100, Z120.
- Heavy corrosive environment (such as coastal, industrial area): Z150, Z180, Z200.
