Galvanized Steel Wire Exporter to Argentina
We supply 1.6-3.15 mm hot-dip galvanized steel wire in both soft and hard states, with a zinc content of 60-80 g/m². Argentine buyers use it for pasture fencing, vineyard trellises, barbed wire, and construction projects. Recent shipments included 79 tons for fencing construction, and another 24 tons of soft wire with start/end labels, destined for wholesalers in Buenos Aires.

Why Wanzhi Steel
Argentina imports most of its galvanized wire. When buyers compare Chinese suppliers, they check the same five things: is it really hot-dipped, will the zinc hold, can we handle small coil weights, will the packaging survive the ocean, and can we mark coils the way their crews need.
Two Production Processes
Our galvanized wire uses both hot-dip galvanizing and electro-galvanizing processes. Hot-dip galvanized wire is more popular with customers in the Argentine market due to its suitability for the local environment.
Package
Galvanized steel wire is typically coiled into a roll, wrapped with a waterproof plastic film, and reinforced with woven fabric/steel strips to prevent moisture damage and scratches to the galvanized layer during sea transport.
Exported globally
In addition to Argentina, we also supply galvanized steel wire to Colombia, Chile, Brazil, Mozambique, Russia, Indonesia, Morocco, and Saudi Arabia – with high-quality control and high packaging standards.
Inside Our Factory

Single Roll Weighing
After production, specifications, weight, and batch number are marked. Each roll of wire is weighed individually, and the weight is printed on a label.

Controlled Annealing
Soft wire needs uniform annealing — we use segmented temperature control so one section isn’t too soft while another stays hard. Tensile is random-tested before shipment.

The loading process was recorded
The entire loading process was filmed, including the markings on the rolls, their weight, and the securing of the materials inside the boxes.
Azerbaijan Export Cases
Two buyers, two different channels — a fence manufacturer scaling its material supply, and a wholesaler adding a Chinese source. Same result: wire that runs clean and zinc that holds.

Fence Manufacturer — 79-Ton Hot-Dipped Order
This client is a small-to-medium manufacturer producing galvanized guardrails, barbed wire and processed steel wire for engineering projects. They were referred to us by a long-standing customer in December 2025. Because their products sit outdoors for years, they demanded corrosion resistance, stable zinc coating and packaging that protects during ocean transit.[Case Details]

Buenos Aires Wholesaler — 24-Ton Soft Wire With START/END Tags
This buyer is a wire wholesaler in Buenos Aires with over a decade in the local market, supplying fencing, agricultural and construction wire. They previously sourced from other countries and wanted a stable Chinese supplier to spread supply risk. They left a message on our galvanized wire page asking for 1.8mm soft wire under 460–490 MPa. Applications
Which industries in Argentina use this galvanized steel wire? Here are the end uses that drive demand.

Ranch & Cattle Fencing
Pampas · Córdoba · Santa Fe
Hot-dipped wire 2.5–3.15mm for cattle fencing that sits outdoors year-round. The zinc has to hold against UV, humidity swings and mechanical stress from animals.
Recommended: 2.5–3.15mm, 60–80 g/m²

Vineyard Trellises
Mendoza · San Juan
Soft annealed wire for tying and training vines. The Buenos Aires wholesaler’s order was specifically for ranch fencing and vineyard trellises — soft temper bends easily.
Recommended: 1.8–2.0mm soft, <490 MPa

Barbed Wire & Guardrails
Nationwide industry
The Argentine customer is a manufacturer of galvanized guardrails, barbed wire and processed steel wire for engineering projects — the 79 tons feeds these three lines.
Recommended: 1.6–3.15mm, hard temper

Construction & Binding
Buenos Aires · Rosario
1.6–2.0mm for tying rebar and general binding on construction sites. The wholesaler’s decade in the market includes steady construction supply.
Recommended: 1.6–2.0mm

Agricultural Tying
Green belts nationwide
Soft wire for tomato cages, creeper supports and general orchard tying — the same soft temper Argentina’s agricultural buyers prefer.
Recommended: 1.8mm soft

Engineering Projects
Provincial infrastructure
The customer also supplies material to local engineering projects — guardrail wire needs consistent tensile across the whole coil, which is exactly what our QC checks.
Recommended: 2.0–3.15mm, tested tensile

Container Loading
| Container | Common Loading Volumes | Applicable roll weight |
| 20ft GP | 20–22 Tons | 350kg/roll (small roll) |
| 20ft GP | 23–25 Tons | 600kg/roll (standard roll) |
| 40ft GP | 25–27 Tons | 600kg/roll |
- Smaller coils allow for more coils and neater stacking for the same tonnage, but the total tonnage difference is minimal.
- Large orders (e.g., 79 tons) are split directly into containers: approximately 3–4 20-foot containers are consolidated.
Shipping Route
Standard term is FOB. Most Argentine buyers use their own forwarder on the South America route. Sea route: North China port → transshipment → Buenos Aires (port of Buenos Aires / Dock Sud).
Step 1: Production & Packing in China
10–20 days. Drawing, annealing, hot-dip galvanizing, per-coil weighing, START/END tagging if required.
Step 2: Ocean Freight to Buenos Aires
30–40 days via transshipment. Buenos Aires / Dock Sud receives most steel coil and wire cargo for the Argentine market.
Step 3: Argentine Customs
Your broker clears with invoice, packing list, B/L, MTC. Certificate of origin available for tariff preferences.
Step 4: Inland Distribution
From Buenos Aires by truck to Córdoba (~700km), Mendoza (~1000km), and the Pampas ranching belt.

FAQ
Questions Argentine Buyers Ask
Yes, when requested. Green “START” and red “END” tags are threaded into the wire itself so they can’t fall off during transit — unlike stickers that peel. This matters for ranch fencing and vineyard trellises where each roll must run continuously from one end to the other without tangling.
60 g/m² minimum for inland Pampas and dry regions — that’s what the 79-ton order used. For coastal areas near Buenos Aires or anywhere humid, go 80 g/m². For extreme coastal salt exposure, we can do up to 300 g/m². Don’t let anyone sell you 30 g/m² electro-coated wire for fencing — it won’t last 3 seasons.
10–20 working days from deposit for standard diameters and zinc ranges. The 24-ton soft wire order took 15–20 days. We keep wire rod and drawing capacity in-house, so we don’t wait on external mills for common sizes.
Standard: 30% T/T deposit, 70% balance against copy of Bill of Lading. For repeat clients with a track record, we can discuss 20% deposit / 80% balance. you see photos of coils, weights, and loading before paying the balance.
