    Features of Mild Steel Strip

    1. Compositional Characteristics: Low carbon content (0.05%-0.25%), low levels of impurities (such as sulfur and phosphorus), and pure material.
    2. Mechanical Properties: High plasticity (elongation 20%-40%), medium strength (tensile strength 300-500 MPa), excellent deep drawability, and low hardness.
    3. Processability: Cold-rolled steel strip offers high dimensional accuracy and is easy to stamp, bend, weld, and shear.
    4. Surface Characteristics: Cold-rolled steel strip has a smooth surface; hot-rolled steel strip has an oxide scale. Surface treatments such as galvanizing and painting are possible.
    5. Economical Performance: Low raw material costs, relatively simple smelting and processing techniques, and low production costs make it a cost-effective basic steel product.

    Mild steel strip is a basic steel material. Its uses are relatively basic even without processing. However, after processing, its applications become even more diverse.

    Uses of Unprocessed Mild Steel Strip

    • Packaging and Strapping: Used for bundling and securing bulk goods such as steel, aluminum, and wood to prevent loosening during transportation.
    • Simple Protection: Used as a temporary rust/scratch protection layer for equipment, pipes, and components, or to separate sand, gravel, and building materials during construction.
    • Temporary Support: Used as raw material for simple supports and dividers in warehousing and renovation, or to secure temporary structures (such as scaffolding).
    • Primary Raw Material Supply: Serves directly as “raw coils/sheets” for downstream processing plants (such as stamping plants and hardware factories), requiring no pre-processing before subsequent processing.

    Uses of Mild Steel Strip by Process

    • Stamping or + galvanizing: Used to manufacture hardware components (such as brackets and clips), automotive parts (such as dashboard brackets and door hinges), and home appliance accessories (such as washing machine drums and refrigerator drawer slides).
    • Bending/rolling processing or + galvanizing: Used to produce structural components (e.g., shelf beams, electrical cabinet frames), profiles (e.g., simple guardrails, furniture support bars), and pipe/container housings (e.g., small ventilation ducts, storage tank cylinders).
    • Welding processing or + galvanizing: Welding into spiral welded pipes, assembling into steel structural components (e.g., factory roof purlins, equipment bases), and metal frames (e.g., display racks, storage cages).
    • Cutting/slitting processing: Cutting into custom-sized steel plates for simple covers, gaskets; used to manufacture steel band packaging clips, spring plates, and raw material for small steel band measuring tapes.
