Calculation formula

1. Simplified formula: W = 0.00785 x h x d + 0.00785 x 2t (b-d)

• W is the weight of the channel steel per meter (kg/m);
• h is the height of the channel steel (mm);
• b is the leg width of the channel steel (mm);
• d is the waist thickness of the channel steel (mm);
• t is the average leg thickness of the channel steel (mm).

2. Detailed formula: W=0.00785 × [hd+2t(b–d) + 0.349(R²–r²)]

The detailed formula has two more values ​​R and r than the simplified formula, where R represents the inner arc radius (mm); r represents the end arc radius (mm).
