Galvanized Wire Production Process

1. Raw material preparation

• Use high-quality low-carbon steel wire rod as raw material.
• Peel the low-carbon steel wire rod to remove the oxide layer and impurities on the surface.

2. Drawing and pickling

• Put the treated low-carbon steel into the wire drawing machine and make the metal wire of the required diameter through multiple drawing.
• Pickling the drawn steel wire to remove impurities such as rust and scale on the surface.

3. Water washing and drying

• After pickling, the steel wire should be washed immediately to remove the residual acid.
• After washing, the steel wire is dried to prevent oxidation of the product.

4. High temperature annealing

• In order to eliminate the internal stress generated during the drawing process, the dried steel wire is placed in the annealing furnace for high temperature (700℃-900℃) annealing.
• The dried metal wire is annealed to reduce its hardness and brittleness and improve its plasticity and toughness.
• The annealed steel wire needs to be slowly cooled.

5. Galvanizing treatment

• Before galvanizing, the steel wire is pre-treated by degreasing and cleaning to ensure a clean surface and improve the adhesion of the zinc layer.
• The steel wire is galvanized by hot-dip galvanizing and electro-galvanizing.
• After galvanizing, the excess zinc liquid on the surface of the steel wire is removed by vibration, centrifugation, etc.

6. Cooling and passivation

• The galvanized steel wire is cooled.
• After cooling, it is purified to enhance its anti-oxidation and corrosion resistance.

7. Post-treatment

• The galvanized wire is fully inspected, including appearance inspection, size measurement, zinc layer thickness detection, adhesion test, etc.
• The galvanized wire is packaged, and the packaging methods include spool wire, coil, etc.
